Whether you have a few hours of time or a specialized skill useful to nonprofits, we need your help in the following areas:

  • Coming out support
  • Social events for LGBT
  • Marriage equality
  • LGBT focused entertainment
  • Grant writing/maintenance

The Needs Assessment of the LGBT Community of McLean County Executive Summary will give you insight into the last survey conducted by the Multicultural Leadership Program that identified the areas of help listed above.

  • Picnic Set-up/Clean-up

    Individuals are needed for setup (moving picnic tables, covering with table cloths, setting up information table, setting up games, and other pre/post-picnic tasks). Individuals also are needed to assist with cleanup of the area so we leave the shelter in good condition for the next group.  The annual picnic will be, Sunday, June 10, 2018; East Shelter, Anderson Park.  Contact us at info@ppc-il.org

  • Sweet Corn Blues Festival Volunteer

    We are looking for volunteers to be a part of our booth at the Sweet Corn Blues Festival in Uptown Normal.  If you are interested in partnering with the PPC in sharing the value that the PPC brings to our community; then please contact us at info@ppc-il.org.  The Sweet Corn Blues Festival 2018 will take place Saturday, August 25 from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, August 26 from 11 am to 4 pm.

    Projected effort: No less than 2 hour slots for volunteers.

  • Newsletter Content Manager

    • Create and curate articles for the newsletter.
    • Send newsletters for approval prior to publication.

    Projected effort: 6 hours per quarter

  • Small Event Coordinator

    Aid board in coordinating PPC events.  Activities may include:

    • Finding a venue
    • Signing up for its use
    • Confirming agreement with the venue
    • Assisting with setup
    • Coordinating volunteer signup

    Projected effort: Typically 4 hours per quarter, but dependent on the size of an event
